 Gas Purification

In the cryogenic process of high purity hydrogen and CO production, molecular sieve plays an essential role. In the typical cryogenic process, synthesis gas (mainly H2 and CO) reformed from natural gas goes through an adsorbent bed removing most of the CO2; then it passes through an molecular sieve adsorbent bed removing the remaining moisture; the water and CO2 content can reach less than 1ppm level by the above treatment; which would guarantee in the coming cryogenic separation process, the pipe will not be blocked because of the water or CO2 freezing. The use of high capacity and long life molecular sieve product also helps to reduce the equipment investment and operation costs.

H2 can also be produced by molecular sieve adsorption method. The raw material gas containing H2 and other gases, such as hydrocarbons, CO2 and N2, passes through zeolite adsorbent bed, normally, one adsorbent column is in the adsorption state, while the others are in the decompression regeneration states. Then the impurity gases can be adsorbed to a very low level by the highly selective molecular sieve, which ensures the output H2 gas purity can reach to 99.9% plus.
